In the heart of the Salento, surrounded by ancient olive groves, the Masseria Bosco di Makyva is situated near the small village of Borgagne, halfway between Lecce and Otranto.

This is exactly the right place for romantics. The Masseria Bosco di Makyva is indeed the setting for a beautiful love story. The youngest son of the wealthy Coppola family – in his love to a Northern Italian woman – constructed a building (the “chalet”) modelled on Southern Tyrolean houses, an architectural style completely uncommon in Southern Italy.

The house has been remodelled in the course of time, but the small gables on the windows still display the desire of the young man to create a homelike atmosphere for his beloved. Exactly in this romantic place your breakfast will be served and upon request also a Mediterranean dinner with local specialties.

You can enjoy typical Apulian dishes in the restaurant of the Masseria.

The ample property of 25 hectares allows on the one hand extensive strolls through the forest, but also the possibility of seeking a remote spot and indulge in the countryside with all its scents and colours. 

If you want to be active, you may explore the surroundings with the complimentarily provided bicycles. Golfers may pay a visit to the 18 hole golf course located only a few kilometres away.

The Adriatic coast is about 6 km off and the crystal-clear water of the sea allows for untroubled bathing fun. The alternation of rocky coast and small sandy bays further adds to the charm of the Salentinian landscape.
