Would you like to get to know Italy from a wholly different side? Not experience masses crowding the beaches and simply enjoy nature? See beaches, where crystal-clear and turquoise-coloured sea surrounds the rocks? Then you will feel really at home in the holiday home Portoselvaggio at the border of the nature reservation of the same name. The villa is situated about 700 m from the sea in a beautiful residential location, surrounded by a number of other villas, on a property of more than 5.000 sqm. The kind but unobtrusive owner Sig. Boccarella lives in a small house on the same estate.
The small town of Nardò (province of Lecce) with its beautiful historic “centro storico” is only about 5 km away and had already been a pre-Messapian centre.
The ground-level house is flanked on both sides by a roofed veranda. Here you can relax and enjoy a good book after an exhausting day on the beach.
The three double bedrooms and the two bathrooms, each equipped with shower, WC and bidet, as well as the spacious living room are located on the ground floor. From two rooms and from the living room you have direct access to the veranda. The kitchen is located on the half-basement floor. Additional features of the house include TV, stereo, radio and washing machine.
The ample property is enclosed by palm trees, a small fountain decorates the driveway. Children have enough space to roam about. You may park your car on the fenced property.
Shopping possibilities as well as an Italian pizzeria are found within about 1 km. Whoever likes to cook under the open sky may use the grill provided in the garden and let the day fade out beneath the warm Italian evening sun.
A walk through a pine forest of about 15 min. leads down to the coast of the nature reservation.
Here on the west coast of the Salento, you will find rocky and steep coastal stretches, as well as shallow sandy beaches. The Portoselvaggio nature reservation covers as a broad coastal stretch more than 400 hectares between the Torre dell’Alto and Torre di Uluzzo.
Diving goggles are an absolute must – crystal-clear water in all shades of blue makes bathing and snorkelling an unforgettable experience. .
A special flair have the two nearby former fishing villages of S. Caterina (ca. 2 km) and S. Maria al Bagno (ca. 5 km). S. Maria al Bagno has been famous since the Roman Empire for its thermal springs and its harbour. A small sandy beach in the bay invites you to a swim. From the time of the late 19th century originate splendid summer residences, which still lend a charming atmosphere to these villages today.
Gallipoli is recognizable from afar, due to its location on a tongue of land stretching far into the sea. The town located about 15 km south of the holiday home has become internationally famous in the 17th and 18th century for its export of lamp petroleum and still impresses with its picturesque old town centre.

Prices per week for the holiday home are valid for the number of persons given in brackets and incl. bed linen, towels and final cleaning. Heating (electric heating fans) will be charged on the spot at cost price. A deposit of 150 Euro is due upon arrival.
* For a possible 5th and 6th person a supplement of 25 Euro/week for each person will be charged in the periods 03.09.2011 - 30.06.2012 and 01.09.2012 - 05.01.2013, a supplement of 50 Euro/week for each in the time from 30.06. - 01.09.2012.
