Whoever wants to assure oneself of the beauty of the sea in Apulia is truly right to come to Santa Maria di Leuca. Santa Maria di Leuca is a bathing and fishing village situated in the bay between Punta Ristola and Capo S. Maria di Leuca – a marvellous place where the Adriatic and Ionic Seas meet.
At this most southern point of Apulia rocky cliffs alternate with small sandy bays. The crystal-clear water invites to swim and snorkel. The numerous grottoes are a true paradise for divers.
Only 50 m from the splendid coast, the old-established and family-run Hotel Rizieri is situated on the western lungomare.
The house contains 24 rooms and a restaurant with gorgeous arched ceiling. Here, everyone will be delighted by the cuisine – the menu ranges from homemade pasta with seafood to typical Italian “dolci”. The various Mediterranean specialties are served in a stylish atmosphere.

Upon request the hotel will organize professionally guided sight-seeing tours to the fascinating grottoes for you. Lovers of the sea will have the opportunity to take part in fishing – the necessary equipment will be provided.

Above the bay, at the tip of the cape, there are the all-towering white lighthouse and the baroque pilgrimage church Santuario Santa Maria di Leuca. From there you have a wonderful view upon the village, the surroundings and the endless size of the sea.
A vast number of noblemen’s villas give testimony of the appeal which originated from the once mundane seaside resort S. Maria di Leuca at the turn of the century.
From S. Maria di Leuca, the Ionic as well as the Adriatic coast of the Salento can be wonderfully explored. Especially the latter is well worth a visit. The winding coastal road towards Otranto offers breathtaking views and numerous possibilities for short stops, to enjoy a welcome refreshment in the turquoise-coloured sea.

But also the culturally interested will not miss out on anything. The history-laden village of Gallipoli is of Greek origin and offers a charming old centre apart from its special location. The impressive baroque town of Lecce, also known as the Florence of the South, is situated about 70 km further up north and is like many other points of interest well worth a trip.

Prices for the rooms are given in Euro per person per day in a double room (DR) with bed & breakfast (B&B), half board (HB) or full board (FB).
Double room as single room: 15 Euro surcharge for B&B, 10 Euro for HB and FB.
Additional bed: 15 Euro surcharge per day.
Surcharge for child’s cot: Children from 0 to 2 years are not charged, older than 2 years a surcharge of 15 Euro per day.
Minimum stay: none for B&B, for HB and FB usually 3 days. in the period August 8th - 25th 2012: seven days (B&B, HB and FB).
