Fast and comfortable Eurocity and Cisalpino trains connect Italy with Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland you can reach Apulia by daytime train connection.
Alternatively, you can take a night train from Northern Italy. There are night trains directly to Bari, Brindisi and Lecce. From the western part of Germany, you are recommended to take the route via Basel and Milan. From the eastern part of Germany as well as from Austria the train route runs via the Brenner Pass to Bolzano.
The fastest connection Munich – Bari takes about 17 hours. Guests from Zurich should count about 13 hours for the train journey.

Cilentano recommends going by train, which is environment- and climate-friendly!
It is at Bologna where the routes taken by vacationers from Northern Europe meet. From here, the A 14 runs via Rimini along the Adriatic coast to Bari, where it turns inland. From Bari, a multi-lane road takes you to the Salento region, to Brindisi and Lecce.
For exact route planning, we recommend www.viamichelin.com or www.mapquest.com.
Suitable destinations would be the airports of Bari and Brindisi.
Alternatively, many airlines, such as Alitalia and Lufthansa, offer flights to Apulia with a transfer in Milan or Rome.

The emissions of one passenger on the outward flight from "London - Heathrow" to "Naples" and return create the climate impact of about 840 kg CO2, from New York about 4780 kg CO2.
You can save this amount of CO2 in an atmosfair climate project for 20,00 Euro respective 111,00 Euro and receive an atmosfair certificate.
