As colorful as the Apulian summer

Two real gems welcome you to the small seaside town of Lido Conchiglie near Gallipoli. From the roof terraces of Casa Verde and Casa Mosaico, you see the sea sparkling in its different shades of blue; inside, the two apartments bid you a colorful and cheerful welcome. Above all Casa Mosaico, the 'mosaic apartment', lives up to its name and meets you with a blaze of colors.  

The coastal section which stretches out in front of and is within a few minutes' walk of I Mosaici is no less charming. Azure blue grottos are 'visited', every now and then, by dolphins; snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the sea is an absolute must, and at the southern end of the lungomare, wide sandy beaches await vacationers from near and far.

This part of Apulia is also blessed with real cultural goodies – just take, for example, Gallipoli, Lecce and Nardò. You can look forward to an exciting holiday.

The holiday apartments

Casa Verde and Casa Mosaico are located next to each other on the 1st floor of a residential building on a street running parallel to the lungomare.

At Casa Mosaico, the apartment to the right, walls and floors are generously adorned with mosaics in strong shades of red, blue and yellow. Casa Verde is held in light and softer colors.

Each apartment accommodates up to four persons and includes
- a cozy live-and-eat-in kitchen with sofa bed, air conditioning, SAT-TV and a modern kitchen unit (incl. stove, oven, fridge-freezer; at Casa Mosaico also a microwave); 
- a bedroom with double bed;
- a tasteful and elegant bathroom (shower/WC/bidet; at Casa Mosaico hydro massage shower).

A washing machine is available in both apartments.

Balcony & roof terrace

Each apartment opens onto a small balcony, from where a spiral staircase runs up to its roof terrace. From there, you have got a wonderful view of the sparkling sea, the Apulian coast and the outskirts of Gallipoli - a marvelous panorama, which might make relaxing twice as nice. 

Furnishing of the roof terrace includes a table and chairs, sun loungers and a sun sail, an outdoor shower, which is great for cooling off in-between, as well as a masonry grill.

Parking: You can park your car along the road in front of the accommodation.

Shopping, dining and bathing

At the lungomare of Lido Conchiglie, about 500 m from I Mosaici, there are two restaurants, a bar and a small grocery store, which are open from April to October. Bigger shopping is best done at Gallipoli (ca. 8 km), a very interesting town and harbor, where shops and restaurants are open year-round.

Excellent restaurants are found in Gallipoli’s Old Town. A special tip by the owner of I Mosaici: Osteria del Vico in the lovely alleys of the centro storico. If you love maritime atmosphere and quality seafood cuisine, Ristorante Marina Blu Salento at the harbor is the right place for a delightful evening.  

The sea awaits you only a few steps from the apartments. From the rocky coastal section in front of I Mosaici, steps runs down to the azure colored sea at your feet. A ca. 700 m walk along the lungomare takes you to the gently sloping, fine sandy beach which stretches from the south of Lido Conchiglie towards Rivabella and is perfect for long days at the beach.

Excursions

The Salento - a holiday destination with beautiful beaches and crystal clear sea waters, but also quite a number of cultural sights. Baroque splendor awaits you at nearby Nardò and at Lecce, the main town of the province. When you keep your eyes open while strolling through Lecce, you will discover many traces left behind by ancient populations, for example the Romans and Normans.

An evening stroll through these towns is almost a must-be, because of their special atmosphere. Drift from piazza to piazza and let the verve of the Pugliesi take hold of you. Venture onto the dance floor at Nardò, home of the traditional folk dance Pizzica, or simply enjoy la dolce vita while savoring a glass of Primitivo.
