As colorful as the Apulian summer

Two real gems welcome you to bathing resort Lido Conchiglie near Gallipoli. From the roof terraces of Casa Verde and Casa Mosaico you see the sea sparkling in its different shades of blue, the insides of the two apartments bid you a colorful and cheerful welcome. It is above all Casa Mosaico – the „mosaic apartment“ – that lives up to its name and meets its guests with a blaze of colors.  

The coastal section stretching out in front of the apartments is no less charming and within a few minutes’ walking distance. Azure blue grottos are 'visited', every now and then, by dolphins, snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the sea is an absolute must, at the southern end of the lungomare wide sandy beaches await bathing vacationers from near and far.

This part of Apulia is blessed with real cultural goodies – just take a look at Gallipoli, Lecce, Nardò & others. You can start into a really exciting holiday.

The holiday apartments

Both Casa Verde and Casa Mosaico, the two holiday apartments next to each other on the first floor of a residential building on a street running parallel to the lungomare, accommodate up to four persons. Each apartment includes a bedroom with double bed, a cozy live-and-eat-in kitchen with sofa bed and a bathroom.

Casa Mosaico, the apartment to the right, is particularly colorful – its walls and floors generously adorned with mosaics in strong shades of red, blue and yellow. Next-door apartment Casa Verde is held in tender blue.

The live-and-eat-in kitchen of each apartment includes a modern kitchenette with stove, oven and refrigerator with freezer compartment. At Casa Mosaico, there is also a microwave. Sat-TV and air conditioning are found in both apartments.

The bathrooms are tasteful and elegant; they are equipped with WC, bidet and shower cabin – Casa Mosaico has got a hydro massage shower. Each apartment is furnished with a washing machine.

From the small balcony of each apartment a spiral staircase takes you to the respective roof terrace, from where you enjoy a wonderful view of the sparkling sea, the Apulian coast and the outskirts of Gallipoli. This marvelous panorama makes vacationing and relaxing twice as nice.

Furnishing of the roof terrace includes a table and chairs, sun loungers and a sun sail, an outdoor shower, which is great for cooling off in-between while sunbathing, as well as a masonry grill.

Parking: You can park your car along the road in front of the apartments.

Shopping, dining and bathing

At the lungomare of Lido Conchiglie, at a walking distance of ca. 500 m from I Mosaici, you find two restaurants, a bar and a small grocery store, which are open from April to October. Big shopping can be done at Gallipoli (ca. 8 km), a small and very interesting town and harbor, at which shops and restaurants are open year-round.

Excellent restaurants are found in Gallipoli’s Old Town. A special tip by the owner of I Mosaici: Osteria del Vico in the lovely alleys of the centro storico. Should you love maritime atmosphere and quality seafood cuisine, then Ristorante Marina Blu Salento at the harbor is the right place for a delightful evening.  

Best bathing conditions await you only a few steps from the apartments. From the stony coastal section in front of I Mosaici, there are stairs into the azure colored sea at your feet. For long days at the beach, we recommend the gently sloping, fine sandy beach which stretches from the south of town towards Rivabella. The beach is within an easy walking distance of ca. 700 m along the lungomare.

Excursions

The holiday area Salento offers beautiful beaches and crystal clear sea, but also a lot of culture. Nearby towns such as Lecce and Nardò in their Baroque splendor are sights to see. When you keep your eyes open while strolling through Lecce, the main town of the province, you come across traces of ancient populations everywhere, e.g. of the Romans and Normans.

An evening stroll through these towns is absolutely worthwhile, too, because of their special atmosphere.  Drift from piazza to piazza and let the verve of the Pugliesi take hold of you. Venture onto the dance floor at Nardò, home of the traditional folk dance Pizzica, or simply enjoy la dolce vita while savoring a glass of Primitivo.
