Villa Natalino - Holiday home at Cisternino

Charming trullo for 5 persons in Valle d’Itria

The cultural landscape that awaits you in the triangle of the provinces Bari, Brindisi and Táranto is unique in the world: Both nature and culture of the picturesque landscape of Valle d’Itria are fascinating. Lovely to behold cone-shaped trulli roofs peek out from in between well-tended almond and olive groves encircled by white stone walls.

The trulli, well into the 1930s still home of the poor rural population, are a Monumento Nazionale today and part of the UNESCO World Heritage. For quite some years now, they have been experiencing a renaissance as original and unique living and holiday accommodations.

The room climate in the houses is near perfect. Traditionally constructed of massive natural stone, these round-shaped houses keep out the heat in summer and the warmth inside in winter.

Like a phoenix from the ashes

Elaborately renovated, Villa Natalino stands to be admired as a charming and modern holiday home with a refined ambience. The white-washed trullo for 5 persons lies picturesquely on a small rise somewhat outside Cisternino, whose well-preserved and lively Old Town is a wonderful place for leisurely evening strolls.

Villa Natalino is located on well-tended, fenced-in premises with palm trees, a paved courtyard, a shaded and furnished outdoor area with grill and pizza oven, an outdoor kitchen in a separate trullo, outdoor shower - simply perfect to enjoy your holidays out in the open, under the warm Apulian sun. For children, the outdoor area offers enough space for playing and romping around.

Comfort and modern design

The trullo with its spacious annex is characterized by tasteful and modern furnishing. It has got three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a cozy living room with picture windows as well as a very well-appointed kitchen and features, amongst others, underfloor heating, air conditioning and WiFi.

The light-flooded living room includes an elegant dining area and a comfortable sofa corner with two leather sofas; the fireplace is only a decorative element and not for use. From the dining area, a staircase runs down to the garage.

In the open kitchen with small dining area, the light-colored, concrete-style worktop and the dark wood veneer form a perfect contrast. The 'cooking area' under the cone-shaped trulli roofs offers what you might wish for: Induction cooktop, oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine are a matter of course at Natalino’s trullo.

Two bedrooms are furnished with double beds. The third bedroom is furnished with a super single bed (1.20 m wide).

All the bathrooms (shower/WC/bidet) are modern in design. Apart from the three bathrooms in the house, one of which the en suite of a double bedroom, there is another one outside, below the terrace.

Villa Natalino's high standard of comfort/furnishing also includes (SAT-) TV in each bedroom, washing machine, fly screens, safe and garage. There are several parking spaces on the property and there is also a charging station for e-cars (since May 2025).

Cisternino & surroundings: excursions, shopping, beaches, restaurants

The nearest shopping facilities, grocery stores and restaurants are found ca. 800 m off. The Old Town of Cisternino with bars, pizzerias and more restaurants is about 2 km from the holiday home.

Discover the many faces of Apulia during your stay. The sea and the nearest beaches at Rosa Marina are ca. 12 km from Villa Natalino. Absolutely fascinating – the nature reserve around Torre Guaceto, a small headland jutting out into the Adriatic Sea and famous for its idyllic dune landscape. Kilometers of sandy beaches and excellent water quality are also found on the Ionian side of the Italian heel – the region is a real paradise for beach and sea enthusiasts.

However, Apulia has much more to offer. Influences from the Orient and the Occident and traces of a fascinating, eventful history can be discovered almost everywhere you go.

Stop by and have a closer look at UNESCO World Heritage listed Alberobello with its agglomerate of trulli and the charming "white town" of Ostuni, which are only 15 km from the accommodation.
Lecce, the "Florence of the South", with its Baroque splendor should not be missing on your to-do-and-to-see list for Apulia either.

And, in case it is true that pasta makes you happy, then this part of Italy is paradise on earth. If you love pasta fatta in casa, fresh fish and seafood, you are sure to get your money’s worth. The open-mindedness and warmth of the locals will add the right spice to your holidays!

Nearest train station: Cisternino (ca. 2 km)

We really enjoyed our holidays in Apulia with the lovely towns and cities to visit and the food and wine to enjoy. What we found to be particularly positive about Villa Natalino: the outdoor eating area (unfortunately underused due to weather) and the quality of the bathrooms and kitchen. Guests would surely appreciate if information about the area and the accommodation were provided. Our tips: a visit to Alberobello is special; visit Lecce by train – use the quicker coastal line and buy tickets from travel agent in Cisternino. And yes, we can imagine spending another holiday in Apulia.
