La Casa del Pastore – A dream of a holiday home with pool near Ostuni

It was an old farmhouse in the countryside with typical cone-shaped trullo roofs that Serena, now the owner, fell in love with and has put much effort as well as her heart and soul into restoring. The result, a comfortable holiday home, which radiates the charm of times gone by, lies embedded on an 8,000 m² property – simply a dream accommodation for Apulia vacationers!

Start into your day by swimming a few laps in the wonderful pool, before enjoying a delicious croissant for breakfast just like the Italians do.   

Afterwards: relax on the terrace of the holiday home, leave for an excursion to the marvelous white towns of Cisternino and Ostuni (ca. 7 km off) or pack up your swimwear and go to the beach – the choice is yours.

By the way, the sandy beaches about 15 km off count among the most beautiful in Italy.

About 150 m from La Casa del Pastore lies holiday home La Torretta, which also belongs to Serena.

Elegant lodging in a trullo

Almond trees line the viale which takes you to La Casa del Pastore.

A comfortable and cozy atmosphere welcomes you inside the holiday home, which accommodates four adults and one child. During the works of renovation special care was paid to preserving the rural style and the natural coloring.  

You enter La Casa del Pastore into an impressive, very well appointed eat-in kitchen (incl. gas stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dish washer, toaster, water boiler, Nespresso coffee machine), from where a round arch opening lets you into the 'fireplace room' with two sofas.

The door to the left in the kitchen opens into the living room with TV, from where you reach a pass-through room, which in former times used to be home to the animals, a kind of stable. This room offers access of a trullo bedroom with double bed and a bathroom (shower/WC/bidet).

The right-hand door in the kitchen opens into the second bedroom, also with double bed as well as en-suite bathroom (shower/WC/bidet).

With its above-described, two separate sleeping areas, La Casa del Pastore might be the perfect accommodation for two couples, who wish to spend their holidays together, but also have a bit of privacy.

Further furnishing

The strong walls of the building make for a pleasant atmosphere inside, temperatures are neither too high nor too low. Therefore and according to the owner, air conditioning is not necessary nevertheless there is one in one of the bedrooms. The holiday home is also furnished with gas heating and a fireplace.
La Casa del Pastore also features WiFi, washing machine, hair dryer and fly screens.

Additional beds for children or an infant bed/cradle and a high chair for the very young are available upon request.

Outdoor area

Holidays homes as well furnished as Casa del Pastore are not often found in Southern Italy.

At and around the 3.5 x 10 m pool as well as on the adjacent terrace you find quite a number of loungers to relax on. If you are not in the mood for a swim in the sea, you can at least swim a few laps or simply cool off in the pool, which is, in general and weather permitting, open from end of April to mid October.

The place in front of the house, where you find comfortable garden furniture at your disposal, might be the perfect spot to gather for an aperitif before dinner. And afterwards enjoy your evening meal under a stately old olive tree before relaxing in the hammocks.

A grill, a sunshade and an outdoor shower are also found in the outdoor area.  

Parking: Two to three cars can be parked on the premises.

Surroundings

Shopping facilities, a gas station and restaurants are found at Casalini, 3 km off. The larger towns of Cisternino and Ostuni are ca. 7 km off.

The sandy beaches on the Adriatic Coast are at a distance of about 15 km.

Should you be interested in the reign of the Hohenstaufen Emperor Frederick II, then do visit Castel del Monte near Bari. Our tip: A visit to the castle on your day of arrival or departure, either on your way from Bari airport to the holiday home or vice versa at the end of your stay.
