(May 19th, 2021) Apulia, and most of Italy by the way, is - "zona gialla".
By presenting a negative Covid-19 test (PCR or antigen test) quarantine upon entry to Italy has no longer been required since May 16th, 2021. You need not repeat the test during your stay. Important! Contrary to what authorities communicated not too long ago and for the time being, a certificate of vaccination is not enough to avoid quarantine onsite. Visits to restaurants, bars, cafés etc. (up to now only outdoor areas open) as well as to stores do not require a test. Nationwide curfew from 23.00 h to 05.00 h is now valid until June 07th, 2021. It is expected to then be reduced by one hour until June 21st, 2021 and then completely canceled. Apart from that the known "distance-hygiene-mask" measures and regulations are to be observed.

Entry to Italy requires filling in a passenger locator form: https://app.euplf.eu/#/

(May 07th, 2021) As of May 15th, 2021, restrictions on mobility within Italy will be completely lifted. By presenting either a negative Covid-19 test (with certificate; no older than 48 hours) or proof of complete Covid-19 vaccination (both doses; authorized vaccines) or proof of recovery from a Covid-19 infection within the last 6 months, you no longer have to quarantine upon entry to Italy. Children up to 2 years of age are exempt from these regulations. Landlords and hoteliers will probably be obliged to pass on these data to the local health authorities upon arrival of the guests.

(April 26th, 2021) As of today, Apulia is "zona arancione". Further decisions concerning Italy's Corona policy and steps for reopening are expected for May 15th, 2021.

(April 21st, 2021) Apulia remains "zona rossa" until April 30th 2021. Further decisions regarding Italy's Corona policy are expected for April 26th 2021.

(April 13th, 2021) At and around Easter Italy as a whole had been categorized as "zona rossa" in order to avoid unnecessary contacts and traveling between the regions. The resolution dated April 12th, 2021 states that Apulia remains category 'red'.

This means de facto lockdown: shops, restaurants and bars are closed; you have to stay at home unless there is a very good reason for not doing so; curfew 22.00 h - 05.00 h.

The current resolutions of the Italian government under Draghi are valid until April 30th, 2021. This also goes for the fact that entry to Italy from the EU area requires a negative Covid-19 test as well as a 5-day quarantine upon arrival.
